Champions League

Jonas continues in Cliff Avenue United Under 7 Soccer once again with former teammates Adriano, Kairuv, and new buddies comprising the rest of the team "Cheetahs" - some beginner and some highly skilled. He is is still one of the best players on his team and is improving in all sports. Nadia has wrapped up her first season of U5 soccer with legendary World Cup Coach Tony Waiters. Jonas and Nadia are becoming little mathematicians too - they'll test each other with simple addition/subtraction problems. It started with Jonas teaching Nadia using the flash cards he first learned from. Nadia knows her single digit math and Jonas is improving at double and even triple digit equations - quite impressive for a kid his age. Jonas continues in Swim Kids 2 - unassisted swimming, Nadia is in Sea Otter where she has learned to do back floats unassisted - big steps, or should I say "strokes". There are many times when I want to remember things I see and hear, especially from the kids, so I can write them down on this blog, and never ever forget. I can't remember everything by the time I sit down to start writing, but one thing I can remember happened tonight when Jonas started reading a book to me at the dinner table. I thought to myself: I think no one can really grasp the profound power of reading until they hear their own child reading to them. A small part of me is sad that Jonas is no longer completely dependent on us but most of me is proud that he has grown up so strong and is learning so well. He writes his school Journal almost everyday and even wrote his first 'book' - Robert Munsch style about a 'monster' entering a Mom's house and "the Mom went, like, 'aaaahhhh'!"
