Last day of school

The school year has ended - Grade 3 for Jonas, Grade 1 for Nadia.  Report cards tell us Jonas is gifted in math and reading, and Nadia gifted in music. The kids are also doing well in social and physical aspects of school.

Broughton Archipelago

This years' Fathers Day trip took us paddling Broughton Archipelago, a group of pristine islands 5-10 km east of Telegraph Cove, Vancouver Island. Shane Simard, Jason Smith, Simon Dellar and Nuno Covas joined a couple or whales, seals, eagles, crabs, and a sea lion that took interest in us.

Fashin and singing

As the school year winds down we marvel at how much the kids have learned and grown this year. Jonas continues to get not only perfect scores on his spelling tests but bonus points for more advanced words, some of which we have a tough time spelling ourselves. He's constantly asking interesting questions about science, nature or just about anything that comes to his head. He usually goes to bed reading one of his comic or story books and to stay up late reading, playing board games, puzzles.  Nadia can read quite well and likes the Mo Willems Elephant and Piggie series. She's written one of her first 'books' some on some of her favorite topics 'fashin and singing. She read it to all of us the other day
